Joseph is currently a Senior Manager at REPOA – a policy research firm; he is responsible for development of operational policies, Monitoring and Evaluation, Resource Mobilization and Reporting. Prior to REPOA, Joseph was a Country Programme Manager at Hivos – Twaweza, a citizen agency based initiative to improve quality and quantity of social services in Tanzania. He oversaw the piloting of a citizen agency approach to development and spent his time designing, experimenting and implementing programs aimed at engaging key channels of communication. Previously he served as a Business Director at British Council Tanzania for over three years, where he led a change initiative pioneering a full cost recovery programs.

His first 10 years of professional experience was mainly in oil industry, mining and construction. Prior to moving to development work he worked as a Commercial Sales Manager of Shell Tanzania, a position held up to 2007. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and a B.Sc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Dar es salaam.  His experience in corporate and development work has helped him to acquire a demonstrable expertise in management and leadership, business strategies, communication, managing development projects, generation and implementation of new project/business ideas. He recently contributed to start up initiatives under Tanzania Intertrade and Investments Company Limited (TIICL) as a Non-Executive Director.
